Early Career

Ella Fitzgerald was a woman of character, and she derived from the jazz/swing culture. She consisted of many traits of Jazz, her voice could reach octaves, wether it is sultry or a chilling lofty pitch. All of her success took place in the notion of her mind and spirit, and it took her to the beginning stages of her career. She started out her debut at age 17 on November 21, 1934. She would go to the Apollo Theater to preform for live audiences, but her true intentions were to dance on stage. Unfortunately, her self-perception got in the way, and led to both doubt and intimidation by a duo group called the Edwards Sisters. Later down the road, in 1935, she gained a chance to preform for a week with the Tiny Bradshaw band in at the Harlem Opera House, but after her reign in the industry, Ella went solo and decided that she would be her own musician and gain her own props in life. Her most famous hit early in her career was "A-Tisket-A-Tasket" (or Yellow Basket) . While coursing to her prime, she found her lover, his name, Benny Kornegay, which they married in 1941, but then annulled 2 years later, leaving her alone to herself.
